Well it looks like the data restoration process is over and we will see no further data recovery on this board.
This attack has demonstrated that Ezboard had failed to adequately back-up our data, a service that we believed we had paid for. Not only have they failed to recover data lost during the attack, they have contrived to lose more data, post attack, presumably due to their own incompetence. Their latest announcement in which they basically tell their customers who are expecting compensation to get stuffed is the last straw.
We have taken the decision to move to a new platform and work is well underway to realise this. Hoojie has very generously provided the hosting to get us started and Jamdog and the Doc have been working tirelessly behind the scenes on the new forum and website respectively. We will of course in parallel be continuing our endeavors to salvage as much data as we can from ezboard and port this to our new home.
We have chosen vBulletin as the forum software, a platform that is much more advanced than the current Ezboard offering and one which is rich in extra features. We intend to launch this soon in conjunction with our own website which will be used to host the forum newsletter and provide relevant and dynamic content to our members.
As soon as the new board is ready we will make an announcement here and email all members. It should also be possible to redirect the Url for this board to the new one.
