When www.backandlay.com was first launched in November 2003, it represented my idea (when I wrote the document in March 2002) of what a functional betting exchange should look like and how it should work (minus the stuff I kicked out of the requirements document to facilitate a launch in my lifetime
).
Since then, we've been gradually adding the stuff kicked out in that initial release and getting up to speed with all the developments in exchange industry functionality and changing users' needs since.
But we're fast approaching a point where the future direction of the website, product functionality-wise, is no longer driven by me, it's rightly driven by what the majority of the active users want - and that means YOU.
As those of you I've formed good friendships with know, Glyn and I are very keen for your input at all times, and I'd like your views on our latest release and other ideas you have going forward.
To get the grey matter going, I enclose the views of Nick H and also list my current idea of the priorities for front-end upgrades.
Nick H: ''I've just placed a couple more bets on B&L and have been playing about with the spinner. At some point in the future I think you need another small upgrade. When you click on a back or lay button, if there are bets on the system then the odds box should default to the best offer currently available, as on Betfair. The reason being that this allows people to work faster and place more bets. Assuming you're in agreement, it might be logical to allow the Enter button on the keyboard to be used as an alternative to the Submit button. Again, for speed.''
NB: If you press the tab key after entering your stake, it takes you to submit and you can then hit the return key to submit a bet.
